Marty and I were recently in Savannah, GA for a site visit ahead of GROW! 2027 on February 17-19. We were seeing the event space at the Savannah Convention Center (it’s awesome), checking out the hotels (also great), and visiting with the team at Coastal Shores Landscape (you’ll be impressed).
On the flight home, we each sat down to organize our notes and clarify our takeaways.
The company culture at Coastal Shores Landscape is impressive. I watched their crews give very specific examples of other people they saw doing something aligned with the company’s core values during their weekly SALT meeting that we saw while we were in town. Team members can recognize each other to earn “coins,” and it was so cool to see it in action. I could tell right away the impact this has on their company: the whole team was involved in catching people doing things right. It was clear that owners Rob and Jessie Shrieve know they're team well, and it was especially impressive how Jessie ran and managed this segment of the training.
During our tour of Coastal Shores and then a deeper dive breakout session at GROW!, Rob and Jessie will walk attendees through exactly what they do and how they implemented this.
While touring Coastal Shores Landscape I saw a company that has been thoughtful about every aspect of their business. Their facility was designed to accommodate their weekly SALT training and have space to grow into. They outfit their trucks to efficiently maintain the typical properties in their book of business. They invest in their people because they know if they take care of their people, their people will take care of their clients.
They'll be able to explain more on what decisions they've made, how they expect it to scale up as they grow, and what issues they think they'll hit when they do. I'm very excited for everyone to get to know them better like I've had the chance to. I think you'll be impressed by this team.
